MOSES — CALLED, FORMED, AND SENT

Moses reminds us that discipleship is often long, slow, and full of God’s patient shaping. His journey—from prince, to fugitive, to shepherd, to deliverer—shows how God forms us long before He sends us. Moses struggled with insecurity, self-doubt, and fear, yet God repeatedly affirmed, “I will be with you.” His story invites us to trust that following God is less about our capability and more about His presence.

Scripture Selections:

Exodus 3–4  The Burning Bush: When God Interrupts Our Plans

God calls Moses despite Moses’s objections. These chapters show that discipleship begins with God’s initiative, not our confidence.

Exodus 14 — The Red Sea: Trusting God When There’s No Way Forward

Moses stands at the edge of the impossible—and God acts. Discipleship requires courage even when circumstances look hopeless.

Exodus 33:12–23 — Seeking God’s Presence Above All

Moses’s bold request, “Show me your glory,” teaches us that discipleship is ultimately relational, not functional.

Hebrews 3:1–6 — Moses in the Greater Story of Christ

Moses’s life points beyond himself to Jesus, reminding us that all discipleship is fulfilled in Christ.
