Koinonia Prayer Night
2/27/25
Cliffside Park, NJ

Join us for our next Koinonia Prayer Night on Thursday, February 27 @ 6:30PM.

Koinonia in Greek means "fellowship." In the Bible, however, fellowship means much more than what modern Christians have made it. It involves intimacy in relationship and a deep spiritual camaraderie that involves prayer, mutual encouragement & edification, and the breaking of bread. This prayer night is designed to reflect the spirit of that word and to meet people where they are, similar to what we see in the Book of Acts.

To ensure enough food is prepared, please be sure to RSVP.

Scripture

Acts 9:1-9

1 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.

“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. 6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

Corporate Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I come before You in awe of Your grace—grace that reaches further than I can fathom, grace that transforms even the hardest of hearts. As I reflect on Saul’s story, I am reminded that no one is beyond Your reach. You took a man filled with hatred and turned him into a vessel of love. You took a persecutor and made him a preacher. And if You could do that with Saul, You can do that with anyone—including me.

Lord, I confess that my view of Your grace is often too small. I struggle to believe that You can truly change the people I find difficult to love. I struggle to believe that You can change me. But today, I choose to trust in the power of Your love. Help me to see others through the lens of Your infinite grace. Teach me to pray with hope, even for those I once believed were beyond saving.

Jesus, help me to hear Your voice calling—just as You called Saul on the road to Damascus. I don’t want to resist You. I don’t want to kick against the goads. I want to surrender. Soften my heart, open my ears, and lead me where You want me to go.

And above all, help me to grasp the depth of Your love—the love that pursued Saul even when he was an enemy, the love that pursued me even when I was lost. May that love transform me from the inside out. May it shape the way I live, the way I forgive, and the way I share the hope of the gospel with the world.

Thank You for Your patience, Your mercy, and Your power to do immeasurably more than I can ask or imagine.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
