2026 "I Will Follow" Reading Plan

As we begin 2026, we invite you to join our year-long Scripture Reading Plan centered on the theme “I Will Follow.” Each month, we’ll explore the life of a biblical character whose story shows what it truly means to follow God with trust, obedience, and surrender.

The plan includes a short monthly introduction and three to four Scripture passages designed to be approachable, reflective, and formative—helping us grow together as disciples of Jesus.

📖 Access the reading plan at nmp.church by clicking NMPC Reading Plan, or through the NMP.Church App.

Scripture

Matthew 11:28-30

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Corporate Prayer

Lord Jesus, we come to you as we are—tired, burdened, and often unsure of how to approach you. And yet you say, “Come.” So we come.

Forgive us for the ways we have misunderstood you—for seeing you as distant, harsh, or disappointed. Open our eyes to see you as you truly are: gentle and lowly in heart, welcoming, approachable, and full of mercy.

Teach us to trust your heart. Give us the courage to be honest with you—to bring our burdens, our frustration, our sin, and our questions without hiding. Help us believe that you meet us not with rejection, but with tenderness.

Thank you that you came low for us, that you draw near to the broken, and that your gentleness is who you truly are—even at the cross.

So today, we come again. Give rest to our souls. Quiet what is anxious in us, and reshape how we see you, so that we may follow you with trust and joy.

In Jesus's name we pray, amen.
