Tackle Kids Cancer Sticker Drive
9/14/25
nmp.church/tkc

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and NMPC is excited to launch a Sticker Drive to support the work of Tackle Kids Cancer, a local non-profit that helps children and families impacted by pediatric cancer while also funding critical research for treatments and cures.

We’re partnering with Peyton’s Sticker Shop, which has generously provided original, hand-drawn stickers for purchase. All proceeds will go directly to Tackle Kids Cancer. With every purchase, a child undergoing cancer treatment at Hackensack Children’s Hospital will also receive a full set of stickers and a heartfelt card of encouragement.

👉 Stickers can be reserved through our event page.
👉 If you’d like to give directly, you can donate through our giving portal—be sure to select the “Tackle Kids Cancer” fund from the dropdown menu.

Together, let’s join in the fight against pediatric cancer and bring hope to kids and families who need it most!

Reserve your sticker selection TODAY at nmp.church/tkc
Koinonia Prayer Night
9/26/25
Fort Lee, NJ

Join us for our next Koinonia Prayer Night on Friday, Sep 26 @ 7PM.

Koinonia in Greek means "fellowship." In the Bible, however, fellowship means much more than what modern Christians have made it. It involves intimacy in relationship and a deep spiritual camaraderie that involves prayer, mutual encouragement & edification, and the breaking of bread. This prayer night is designed to reflect the spirit of that word and to meet people where they are, similar to what we see in the Book of Acts.

To ensure enough food is prepared, please be sure to RSVP at nmpc.link/prayer

NMPC Courses Launching Soon!
NMPC is excited to launch two new courses in the month of October. Read on below for more information:
Course #1: Digging Deep: A Dive Into The Parable of The Prodigal Son
Starts: 10/5/25; 5 weeks; 1PM
Leonia, NJ

This class takes a deep dive into Jesus’ parable of The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–32), guided by Henri Nouwen’s classic The Return of the Prodigal Son: A Story of Homecoming. Blending Bible study with reflective reading, we will explore both Scripture and Nouwen’s insights to discover how this timeless story speaks to our lives today.

Each week, we’ll practice a method of Bible study that pairs close reading of the parable with intertextual connections, while also discussing a section of Nouwen’s book (about 30 pages weekly) in a book-club style.

Together, we’ll reflect on how Jesus’ words challenge our understanding of God, reshape our view of ourselves, and renew our sense of purpose.

To register, please visit nmpc.link/diggingdeep

Course #2: The Jesus I Never Knew
Starts: 10/22/25; 5 weeks; 8PM
Leonia, NJ

Simply devoted to who? In his celebrated book The Jesus I Never Knew, Philip Yancey uncovers a Jesus that both surprises and inspires. Join us as we journey together to know more truly the One to whom we devote our lives.

Decoding Devotion - "Serious Fruit" - Part 2

Scripture

John 15:1-17

The Vine and the Branches
1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

Corporate Prayer

Gracious Father,

We thank You for the gift of Your Son, the true Vine, and for Your Spirit who remains in us and never leaves us. In a world that tempts us to believe that Your commands diminish life, remind us that every word You give is life-giving, every boundary You set is rooted in love, and every call to obedience leads us into true freedom.

Lord Jesus, teach us to abide in You—not with a passive remaining, but with an active, engaged dwelling. May our lives not be marked by mere survival, but by the intimacy, depth, and fruitfulness that come from walking with You daily. As we love one another, serving, forgiving, and bearing with each other, draw us closer to Yourself. In the face of gossip, selfishness, or apathy, help us choose love, for in loving our brothers and sisters we encounter You.

Holy Spirit, remind us that abiding is not a mystical feeling but a life of obedience, a life patterned after Christ. Cut away what is fruitless in us, even when pruning is painful, and cultivate in us the fruit that will last—fruit that blesses the world, glorifies the Father, and flows from communion with You.

Make our church a community where Your Spirit moves freely, where obedience is embraced as joy, and where saints are formed into their true selves by surrender to Christ. May we not aim at fruit alone, but at Jesus Himself, trusting that fruit will follow.

We pray this in the name of the Vine, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.
