Now that we've dived into our friendship with God, it is time to grow our trust in Him! We excitedly invite all of our friends in our Mercy Minis and Mercy Kids ministries to our annual Vacation Bible School event! This year, we will enjoy a day-long affair.

Included in the day will be a special time for parents to come for family worship, prayer, and early dinner. We ask that parents drop off by 10:30AM and return to join us at 2:45PM!

To ensure that we prepare enough food, T-shirts, and activities, please register all participating children at the following link: nmpc.link/vbs2025.

When you register, select the number of tickets based on the number of children you will be sending. We also encourage our members to invite family & friends with children (who turned two years old by 9/30/25 through current 5th graders) to join us!

Jesus certainly loves our children and taught us to be a community that helps them grow, so please join our staff and volunteers in prayer as we prepare for this important time of ministry. May God open hearts, renew minds, and bless the next generations as they learn to trust him in this wild world! Mark 10:13-16

Scripture

John 11:17-29

Jesus Comforts the Sisters of Lazarus
17 On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. 18 Now Bethany was less than two miles from Jerusalem, 19 and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them in the loss of their brother. 20 When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.

21 “Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”

23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

27 “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

28 After she had said this, she went back and called her sister Mary aside. “The Teacher is here,” she said, “and is asking for you.” 29 When Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to him.

John 11:32-35
32 When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”

33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. 34 “Where have you laid him?” he asked.

“Come and see, Lord,” they replied.

35 Jesus wept.

Corporate Prayer

Father, thank You for creating us as whole people—with minds, bodies, and emotions. You didn’t make us to be robots or to live disconnected from our feelings. You made us to feel deeply, just as Jesus felt deeply.

Lord, we confess that sometimes we believe the lie that spiritual maturity means becoming less emotional. We’ve been taught, or we’ve assumed, that being close to You means being calm, unaffected, or detached. But today we see that Jesus was none of those things. He felt anger at sin and death. He wept over suffering. He rejoiced in faith. He loved with all His heart.

Help us to grow in emotional maturity—not by ignoring our emotions, but by becoming more honest about them. Help us to examine what we feel and to bring those feelings to You. Teach us that our emotions matter to You, that You care about what we carry inside, and that You invite us to bring our whole selves—mess and all—into Your presence.

For those of us carrying grief or confusion or anger today, help us not to hide. And for those of us feeling joy and gratitude, help us to celebrate freely. We want to grow not only in knowledge or discipline, but in emotional awareness, in compassion, and in love.

Lord, as we follow Jesus, help us to become more like Him—fully alive, fully present, and fully engaged with You and with others. In His name we pray,
Amen.
